Dr. Richard Lucius is a board certified ophthalmologist who brings the latest in techniques, research and innovations to his practice to ensure that his patients receive state of the art medical and surgical care. Dr. Richard Lucius has performed thousands of surgical procedures with an emphasis on cataracts, LASIK and refractive lens exchange. His practice interests include LASIK, refractive lens exchange, cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, glaucoma surgery, oculoplastic surgery and laser surgery for diabetic eye disease and glaucoma.

Dr. Richard Lucius is a graduate of the University of North Dakota where he received a bachelor's degree in Natural Science and a Master's degree in Biochemistry. He received his M.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in 1992. He completed his internship and was also a clinical professor in the department of family medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. A fellowship with an emphasis on ocular pathology and intraocular lens research was completed at the University of Utah. Dr. Richard Lucius received his residency training in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology, Stearns-Benton County Medical Society, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
